Weren’t we lucky with the weather again this year? Although it was a bitbreezy, the rain held off and the numbers attending were a record of some 4000.With the exception of the model flying club, all the events were able to take place. The Field Gun runs performed by the Cadets of TS Invincible were particularly appreciated by the crowds and the traditional Punch and Judy Show was really popular. The Novelty Dog Show also proved a great hit again with more entrants than ever this year.Watching the children from the village school performing their country dancing had the adults reminiscing on how they used to Strip the Willow in their youth and the dulcet tones of Secklow Brass helped the tea and cakes slide down a treat. The real stars, of course, were the vehicles that were on show. There were a record number of entrants this year - close to 300 - ranging from pre-war BSA motor bikes up to the massive and impressive Harley Davidsons and Honda Goldwings, and from ancient Austin 7s to sleek Porches and Ferraris. There was also a police John Deere tractor, used to demonstrate anti-theft measures to farmers. The model train sets drew the children and the dads as did the fire engines on display. The best vehicle in show was won by Mr. Heath with his outstanding Rover P6The committee would like to thank all the volunteers that assisted over the weekend because, without you, the event would not happen. We also like to thank our sponsors, particularly Land Rover Experience, and Experience The Country (who between them provided most of the hardware used on the day), Richard Robinson for again providing all the wonderful sound systems, Simon and Bluefish Office Supplies for printing the flyers and posters and finally thanks to L. Maskell Builders for again lending the van (and this year, paying for the repairs after we bent it). The committee would also like to express their gratitude to the officers and cadets from TS Invincible, who not only entertained the crowds on the Sunday and assisted in running the car parking, but also worked tirelessly all day on the Saturday in preparing the show. They are a real credit to their unit in particular and Milton Keynes youth in general. The Show raised in the region of £7000.00. This will allow us to start the next phase of the Restoration work on the North side of the tower. Finally we would like to thank everyone who attended on the day; we hope you enjoyed it and will come again next year.
